Practice THIS To Make Success Inevitable
I’m so glad you’re here. I’m going to share something with you that virtually no one knows about me, how I ever even got into the mindset, started studying NLP, and the unconscious and conscious mind. It’s a pretty funny story. I read a book in the early 2000s by a gentleman by the name of Neil Strauss and it was called The Game: Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists. It looked like a Bible. It was all about picking up women. It was literally trash reading. It was like the equivalent of reality TV but in a book.
The Power Of Self-Image
I was fascinated with the fact that this nerdy, shy, corky guy who couldn’t get any women could learn these processes to pick up women. Not because of the processes. Some of those were lame. Some of them were fairly legit and I could understand them, but because what he did was practice techniques that gave him confidence that changed the way he saw himself. When he changed the way he saw himself, he changed the way the entire world saw him and reacted to him.
Your conscious mind influences your unconscious mind, and your unconscious mind automatically pursues what you truly want. Share on XI thought, “That is powerful. I need to know more about that.” That’s literally when I started studying about hypnosis, self-hypnosis, and LP, which is neurolinguistic programming and all the ways that your conscious mind can influence your unconscious mind. Your unconscious mind just automatically goes after what you want. It started the journey of focusing on my mindset and having extreme success in my own life. Now, it’s important to tell you that with that book, that gentleman wrote another book later or several books later.
Leveraging The Conscious Mind
He was very unhappy and that didn’t get him what he wanted because what he wanted was to be in a good relationship with someone. He got there eventually but did not buy these techniques, but that’s not the important part. The important part is understanding that you can use your conscious mind to influence your unconscious mind to get anything and everything that you want. This is a real thing. Since the 1950s, Scientists have understood that if you say things and imagine things, whether it’s like meditating or a guided meditation or sitting quietly and imagining the life that you want in what they have called for years, the theater of the mind.
You can rehearse the life that you want. Let’s say you want to do an amazing jump shot in basketball. You do that jump shot over and over again in your mind rehearsing it. Until when it comes time to do that, your unconscious mind pretty much just goes through the motion because it’s done it so many times. If that sounds like bullshit to you, go look up old recordings of Muhammad Ali where he said, “I know I was going to knock him down in this round because I’ve done it 72 times before now.” He was rehearsing in the theater of the mind.
Change your self-image—who you believe you are and what's possible for you. More than anything else, that determines your reality. Share on XYou can find old quotes from Albert Einstein saying, “Imagination is stronger than knowledge.” That is what they are referencing, practicing this in the theater of your mind. I want you to think, “What do I want? If I could have just one thing now, what would I want?” Start practicing that. Rehearse it. Rehearse it as seriously as if you are in rehearsal, dress rehearsal for your dream life because this will get it for you. If you do this faithfully for even just 21 days, you will start to change your own self-image, who you believe yourself to be and what you see as possible.
The 21-Day Challenge
As crazy as it sounds, that is the number one dictator of what is possible for you. Forget the world. Forget the economy, naysayers, and other people. None of that stuff matters. What matters is what you believe is possible. If you’re having a hard time cultivating that self-belief, which everything in my life that I’ve ever accomplished has been because of self-belief, then go cultivate it in the theater of the mind. Go and imagine your perfect hour. Go and imagine your perfect day. Go and imagine all those feelings and what it will look like.
Do it often enough that your unconscious mind doesn’t know the difference and thinks you’ve done it 30 times already. When the opportunities come to you, it’s automatically going to see them. It’s automatically going to grab for that conversation with that important person. It’s automatically going to grab for you, the hermit going out and doing something social when you don’t normally do it. It’s automatically going to grab. You do a new fitness routine because it will be good for your health. I am telling you. You commit to practicing, rehearsing this dream accomplishment in your mind for 21 days straight and you will get so much closer to it that you will no longer doubt that it’s going to happen for you. Give it a try. Let me know how it works. Here’s to your success.
