Seeing someone else doing the thing you want to do can bring up jealousy, especially when they seem to be doing it faster, better, or with more ease.
In this episode, April Shprintz challenges the idea that jealousy is something you should judge yourself for or simply overcome.
Instead, she shows how jealousy can point you toward what you want and reveal the limiting beliefs keeping you from going after it. Using a simple exercise with a pencil, red pen, and eraser, April walks you through identifying those beliefs, writing down the truth, and giving your mind something new to believe. Practice it for the next four or five days and see what starts to feel less true.

What Jealousy Is Trying to Tell You
Why Seeing Someone Else Win Can Make You Jealous
Hi there. I am so glad you’re here.
Today we’re going to talk about one of my favorite things to do to push myself into the future with doing things that I really want to do or identify why I can’t.
So, a lot of folks aren’t big fans of scrolling on social media. What do they call it? Doom scrolling.
But for me, I like to scroll and watch the people who are doing the things that I want to do, even if they’re 10, 20 years ahead of me in what they’re doing. And why I love to do this is I love to see people win.
Because for me, from a mindset perspective, every time somebody else wins, that means it’s that much more likely that I will win.
But it wasn’t always that way.
So if you’re one of those people who, when you see someone doing something you want to do or something you’re trying to do faster or better or seemingly with more ease, you get upset and jealous, don’t judge yourself.
This is actually a good thing.
Jealousy is usually told to us to be something that’s so terrible we shouldn’t feel it, we should overcome it, we should be better. Here’s the other thing, though.
Jealousy is your mind’s way of telling you this is possible for you and you aren’t there yet.

Write Down Your Limiting Beliefs
So if you find that when you’re scrolling through and seeing other people doing the things that you really want to do, you feel jealous, I want you to do this limiting beliefs exercise. I love this.
I did it in a recent manifesting workshop. I do it myself all the time.
So I want you to take out a couple of sheets of paper, and you need to get a pencil, a red pen, and a big ol’ eraser, okay?
And I want you to write out “My beliefs about…” whatever it is. And write that all in pencil, okay?
Then I want you to write in pencil what you believe is true about other people doing what you want to do, about why you can’t do what you want to do.
So, for example, if I were to use someone that was doing something amazing, let’s do something different, like a—I don’t know—a NASCAR driver.
“So-and-so is such a better NASCAR driver than I would ever be.”
That would be your limiting belief, okay?
And so you go through and you write the different limiting beliefs.
“I don’t have the time to do the thing I want to do.”
“I don’t have the money and resources to do the thing I want to do.”
“If I do the thing I want to do, I won’t have any time for my friends and family.”
“The thing I want to do doesn’t pay me enough.”
Okay, those are the limiting beliefs.
And when you write those down, remember that you want to leave a bunch of space because you’re going to write the truth in that red pen afterwards.
Write the Truth in Red
So whether you call it manifesting, you call it prayer, you call it focusing on the goal, that doesn’t matter.
All of those things require you to utilize your mind and focus on the things you want, not the things you don’t want.
And that’s what Winning Mindset Mastery is all about. It’s about teaching you to focus on the things that you want to get in your life. Ignore the things that you don’t want to get.
All of those things require you to utilize your mind and focus on the things you want, not the things you don't want. Share on X
Erase the Beliefs That No Longer Feel True
So once you’ve written all those out, I want you to, for the next four or five days, go through and read that list of limiting beliefs written in pencil and the truth written in red.
And what you’ll notice is those limiting beliefs will start to feel less and less true.
And what is so fun about this is, as they do, you can start to erase them.
And because you’ve put the truth in red, you’re actually working with your unconscious mind to let it know another belief, something that is actually true for it to grab onto and replace that old limiting belief with.
And what’s so amazing about this is now something that triggered you in the past because you weren’t doing it yet has led you to find the thing that was blocking you from doing what you want.
So give this a shot. Let me know how it works for you.
Let me know in the comments or tell me on WinningMindsetMasteryPodcast.com because you can always send that private message to me there.
I really want to know how this works for you and if you love it as much as I do.
Here’s to your success.
