The Lie That’s Keeping You From Manifesting Your Dreams
I am so glad you’re here. I cannot wait to tell you about the lie that is keeping you from manifesting your dreams and your goals, and how you can do it in a way that is so much easier, faster, and more exciting. It is a lie that is so pervasive that I bet you’ve heard it. I bet you automatically accepted it as true. I sure did. It’s going to be life-changing when you move away from it.
The Lie Of Hyper-Specific Goal Setting Blocks Manifestation
The lie is this. If you want to achieve something or if you want a certain goal, you need to write it down so many times, clearly and specifically. You need to know exactly what it is you want so much that you can taste it. That’s bullshit, and I’m going to tell you why. You can get so specific about something that you want to manifest in your life. Something that you want to have, that you can block out so many different ways that it can show up for you. Why is that?
What You Truly Want Is The Feeling, Not The Thing
Whatever it is that you want or whatever your goal is, it doesn’t matter if it’s about money, relationships, health, fame, fortune, friends, or your dog. Whatever it is, the thing you think you want is about how it’s going to feel when you get it. It’s not about the thing at all. If you think I’m crazy, I want you to think about what it will be like to win the lottery. What will you do? What will that bring you? What will you have, do, or be when you have this thing? If you ask yourself enough times, you always get to a feeling. It’s the feeling that you want, not the specific thing.
We are all lied to believe that if we have the money, then we’ll be happy. If we have the relationship, then we’ll be happy. If we have the perfect body, the promotion, the friend, the fill-in-the-blank, then we’ll be happy. The thing is, we go after them with a vengeance, but we don’t enjoy the process. When we get them, we’re not even happy about it. A lot of times, we never even get there because we don’t realize we’re blocking so many things from coming to us because we’re being so specific.
We’re taught that things will make us happy—but in chasing them, we block the very happiness we’re seeking. Share on XLet’s say that you and I are good friends with Warren Buffett. Warren Buffett is about to give you $1 million to do whatever you want. You say, “Awesome. I want it all in $10 bills. In cash.” Warren chuckles and says, “I don’t deal in that kind of cash. I was going to wire it to your bank.” You’re like, “No, Warren. I can only take this in $10 bills. In cash.”
He’s like, “What if I get you a cashier’s check from my bank, and then you can cash that?” You’re like, “No, Warren. Only $10 bills. Only cash.” Then, he laughs again and is like, “What if I write you a personal check? Would that work?” You’re like, “No. If I wasn’t going to take a cashier’s check, I wouldn’t take a personal check.” Do you see how you’re blocking the money? Do you see how you’re blocking this person from doing this amazing thing for you because you’re so specific? It could only be this one way.
That’s what happens when we try to manifest our dreams. We think the only way we can feel the way we want to is if we get these very specific things. Guess what? Number one, you’re limiting all these different ways that it could come to you. Number two, you’re blocking the feeling that would bring those things much faster.
Shift From Specific Outcomes To Feeling-Based Manifestation
I’ve got two pieces of homework for you. I promise you this will make such a huge difference in how quickly you can manifest and how much you enjoy the things that you’re bringing into your life. The first thing is to get very clear on what you think getting whatever it is that you want is going to feel like. Is it going to feel fun? Is it going to feel peaceful? Is it going to feel safe? Are you going to feel happy? Will you feel fulfilled or proud? Whatever that is, find that feeling.
Number two, I want you to find other things in your life that don’t take that huge manifestation or don’t take that huge achievement to get that same feeling. Focus on those things rather than getting super specific about exactly what you want, exactly when you want it, or how big and great it has to be. Believe me. I understand. I have all of the vision boards. I have all of the outcome-achieving charts and all of the things that I did for over twenty years, trying to do this the specific way.
I found that if you focus on the feeling, focus on other things that elicit that feeling, and the more often you do those things, the quicker your manifestation comes. The more you enjoy what you’re trying to get. More often, the universe shows up with something that is even better than what you were even asking for. The first step is your mindset, learning how to control the way that you think, and focusing on the things you want. The advanced class is focusing on the feeling you want, so that you can get everything you’ve ever imagined. Here’s to your success.
