Others Treat You As You Treat Yourself
I’m so glad you’re here. In the last episode, we talked about the golden rule and how it says, treat others how you want to be treated and how I need you to tweak that because others are only going to treat you as well as you treat you. If you wrap your head around that last episode, I am super proud of you because that’s a tough one. I’m bringing in content that I am teaching in my most exclusive groups because they are having such results from this and I want that for each of you.
Keep in mind the way that we treat ourselves, the way that we see ourselves broadcast out to the world how we should be treated. It is as important as mindset. Mindset is the first step. This is the next step to become even more valuable, powerful, and abundant. You will get all of the things that you want. Now you’re like, “How, April? How do I start treating myself differently? I’ve been doing this for my entire life. I thought I was doing a good job.” I’m not saying that you weren’t but you can do this even better.
Nurturing Your “Little Self” Transforms Value
The easiest way that I have found for clients to start treating themselves better is to get acquainted with the little version of them. When you were a kid, when you were the most you, before you maybe went to school, before you started learning that you were so good at sports, so you are an athlete or you were so smart so you were the smart kid. Before you started performing for others and doing the things that you knew people approved of, that age, when you were the most you.
I want you to think of that person as almost a separate person. A separate version of you and I like to call them your little. We’re the bigs and they’re the littles. It’s almost as if you were a child and you get the opportunity to give you as a child, anything and everything you didn’t get growing up. This doesn’t mean that your parents are bad people. This doesn’t mean that adults in your life are bad people. Maybe there were things that you needed that you didn’t experience. You now as an adult can give the young girl version of you those things.
Here’s what I want you to start with. This is the most important one. When you talk to yourself, you are talking to that little version of you. I want you to imagine yourself at that age, like how cute you work. Go find a little picture if you need to of how adorable, sweet, innocent, kind and loving you were. Are you going to say to that version of yourself, “You screwed up again. What is wrong with you? Why do you say such stupid things?”
Treating Yourself Better Attracts Abundance & Respect
You’re not going to talk to a little version of you like that. We wouldn’t talk to a child on the street like that. We wouldn’t talk to our kids that way. What I want you to do is start talking to yourself as the little version of you. A lot of times we have much more negative self-talk than we realize and it’s because we’re not thinking about the fact that we aren’t talking to ourselves at the age we are now. We’re talking to the little kid version of us.
The kinder we are, the gentler and more cognizant we are about what we’re telling them, the better they are at everything they try and do. The better, they feel the happier they are. That translates to us because the little us and the big us are the same person. If you start nurturing and doing kind things for the little version of you, starting with self-talk is the most important one. You will start to see differences in your day-to-day life.

When you start treating yourself as if you are a even more valuable version of yourself, you become that. Think about if you wanted a new fancy car and you were going to have to wash it and wax it off and keep it clean and take good care of it. Before you got that car, wouldn’t it be great to get in the habit with the car you have now and start taking good care of it? How much easier would it be then to get that new car and to be in that habit? That’s what I want you to do with the little version of you.
As you start treating yourself better, you will become better, more valuable and more loved. The entire world is going to start reacting to that. I want you to start to do that now. Start to pay attention to how it influences the people around you and just like with mindset, you get more of what you focus on. If you focus on being kind to yourself, giving yourself grace and seeing how valuable and wonderful you are from the youngest age, the rest of the world is going to respond.
Pay attention because you’re going to start to see yourself get the things that you’ve been looking for. Maybe small little Universe wings about it may be the big thing you were asking for. It’s going to happen faster and faster when you start treating yourself like the most important person in your life. Here’s to your success.
