The Hidden Power Of Paying It Forward
The Hidden Power Of Paying It Forward
I am so glad you’re here. I am super excited to talk about this, the hidden power of paying it forward. Now Pay It Forward was a movie, I think in the late 1990s or maybe early 2000s, that I just loved. It didn’t get the greatest reviews, but the idea behind it moved me. It made me cry. It was an incredible movie. I’ve always loved the idea of, if someone does something wonderful for you, how can you then go do something wonderful for someone else?
Manifesting Kindness: Shifting Your Mindset
Now, I realize how this helps your mindset and how it helps you manifest. It’s freaking amazing. Here’s how I came to this conclusion. I was traveling back from North Carolina in the cabin that we have there that I love to go to in the summer. Someone at the airport was having one of those awful days. I’m hearing her half explaining that she had bought some special knife for her son while they were on vacation and she couldn’t go through TSA. She had to check her bag with it but she’d already checked her bag. She was going to have to pay. I could just feel all of the anxiety that was falling off of her because she was not having the day she wanted to.
People are better than we think we are. The world is better than we think it is. Share on XI stopped the person she was talking to and I said, “I’m going to pay to check her back,” and she was so shocked. The reason that I did it was, I had something kind of similar happen to me where a friend helped out because I’d left a couple things when we would travel to Italy overseas. I was so annoyed at myself for leaving them that my friends said, “I’ll pay to ship them back,” which was huge. It’s not that I couldn’t have paid for it because I could but it made my thing that was annoying and bothering my day less of an issue for me. I could focus on the gratitude that my friend was being so kind.
I was able to pay it forward and do it for this woman. She had no idea why. She was shocked and it changed her entire mood. I talked to her a little later and it changed the way she was viewing everything. That in itself is hugely rewarding and lots of fun. I love that I got to do something for someone that had been done for me. It shocked people in line and things like that. I love things like that. Not for the recognition that I’m getting, but for the recognition that people are having that, “People are better than we think we are. The world is better than we think it is.”
On those days when you don't feel that great, sometimes doing something that makes someone else's day amazing takes your focus off that negative momentum. Share on XHere’s where it starts to get exciting. Someone paid it forward for me, so I did it for someone else. You can bet that woman is probably going to do it for someone. Here’s what’s going to happen for her when she does. Without realizing you are scanning the world for ways to make things better. Guess what? When you are scanning the world and focusing on ways to help and do great things for people? You find them. They feel good for you. They feel good for other people. From a law of attraction and manifesting standpoint, the vibration that you were putting out in the world is higher. It’s that of help. It’s that of care. It’s that of love so better things start happening to you without you even meaning to.
Overcoming Negative Momentum Through Service
All you’re looking for is somebody to be a kind person to, to brighten up their day, to make things easier or better more fun. It is incredible. On those days when you don’t feel that great, sometimes doing something that makes someone else’s day amazing takes your focus off that negative momentum that you have from a mindset perspective. It takes it to a better place, so that your day immediately starts going better. How fun is that? I know, this is all a very generous culture to me. How neat is it that pouring into other people can make your day better? It can then make your life better. You get this momentum of it going even better and better.

You might say, “April, this just sounds hokey. I don’t have the money to spend on other people.” No problem. If you’re generous with your money and you do things with it for others, that you do it with an open heart and from a great place, you’re going to get more money. It works like that. Before you feel that way, do it with your time. Do it with your energy. Do it with your thoughts. Throw a, “I hope you have a much better day in your head or to that person,” with real genuine meaning and feeling. That’s a pay it forward moment.
Why Kindness Is Contagious And Life-Changing
When you go about your day looking for ways to uplift others, you can’t help but be uplifted. I’m going to tell you. There is no way that you can do genuinely kind things for people. Make a genuine impact on what is happening for them and not feel like your life is so much better than you ever thought it was. I have never been happier, more fulfilled, or more excited than when I was helping other people. It’s contagious. When people see you do it, then they’ll do it more. Not only are you and proving their day and your day.
When you go about your day looking for ways to uplift others, you can't help but be uplifted. Share on XI’m going to say something that’s going to sound dramatic, but it’s true. You’re going to make the world better. How incredible is that? If you want to join me in this, I encourage you to find a cool way to pay it forward. Whether it’s a compliment, opening a door for someone, or going out of your way to help anyone in whatever way you can. You’re going to make an incredible difference. Here’s to your success.
