Improve Your Mindset With Mirror Work
I am so glad you’re here. One of the things I love about this show is my ability to give you tools that will increase your mindset and make valuable changes for you super quickly. One of those tools that you may never have heard of before is called Mirror Work. I want to give credit where credit is due in the first place. I heard about it from Louise Hay who was the Founder of Hay House. She wrote some incredible books and did incredible work in the self-improvement space. Also, got many other authors and powerhouses out into the mainstream.
Mirrorwork is simple but it’s also incredibly powerful. To tell you what it is if you’re not familiar, Mirror work is looking at yourself in the mirror and repeating certain statements or affirmations of things that you want to change about your belief system. Keep in mind that beliefs are nothing more than a thoughts that we have thought over and over again. Whether it’s a belief that empowers you or a belief that holds you back, the more you think about it, the more powerful it becomes in your world.

Doing this mirror work causes us to be mindful of what we’re saying to ourselves. It can also elicit powerful changes in us very quickly. For years and years growing up and even into adulthood, I was negatively motivated. I would motivate myself with negative self-talk, “You better do this or,” and found that worked very well for me in a motivational sense but it makes it easier for you to get burnt out. It is not the best way to talk to yourself. It works even better when you can find a way to positively motivate yourself.
I learned about mirror work and started doing these different affirmations and things. To this day, I can’t get through ten “I love you, April,” affirmations in the mirror without tearing up because they’re so powerful and it means so much. You may think, “What does that have to do with anything?” Everything we want in life starts with believing that we are worthy of love and the things that we want. When we tell ourselves that we love ourselves, it starts to make a huge shift in not only our mindset but the world around us.
The emotions are so powerful. You can also use the words “I am,” and then whatever it is that you want after that. One of the reasons this is so powerful whether you believe in things like the Law of Attraction and the universe is also the science because our unconscious mind does not know the difference between real and imagined. All it knows is what our conscious mind tells it.
You Already Are
Let’s think about this. If you think about Muhammad Ali and how he was so famous for doing these incredible things in the boxing ring. He does it in round twelve and people would say, “It’s amazing. Are you shocked that you had a KO or a knockout in round twelve?” He’d say, “No, I’m not shocked at all because that’s how I practice it in my head over and over again” Our unconscious mind does not know the difference between real or imagined. To him, he had done it over and over. Going and doing it in the real physical world was that much easier.
Mirror work is exactly the same. Using those “I am” statements is telling yourself you’re already the version of yourself that you want to be, the person you want to be at that successful place you want to be. Using this can be incredible. Here are some examples of mirror work. Saying the phrase, “I am a successful mom, dad, CEO, partner, friend, or athlete.” Whatever it is that you’re looking to be. You say it ten times in the mirror. I would recommend doing it first thing in the morning and then again at night before you go to bed.
Another one, “I am worthy of abundance, of promotion, or love.” Fill in here anything it is that you want. Another catch-all super-duper impactful one, “I love and approve of myself.” Anytime you do this work, you are going to elicit some powerful emotions and powerful change for yourself, which is incredible. You can learn more about this through Louise Hay. She has lots of different books. You can google Louise Hay and Mirror Work but just trying those few things I talked about will make an incredible difference in your life. I can’t wait to see how it helps you. Here’s to your success.
