Change Your Life With One Small Change To Your Schedule
I am so glad you’re here. I have got a small schedule or calendar change for you that is going to change your life, so listen up. It sounds like a small thing but it will make an incredible impact for you. A lot of the folks that I work with very closely are those kinds of people who are always on the go, and who are always doing things. They’re always busy. They’re doing things for others. They’re doing things for their business.
They’re looking to accomplish goal after goal. A lot of these folks are either hustlers and grinders or like me, they’re a recovering grinder, which means they used to live that fully busy crazy-going life. That’s how they felt like they could only be successful. Now, they’ve realized and they are realizing that there are so many other ways you can be successful. Here’s the important part and enjoy it so much more.
Active Rest
One of the things that we always come up against is allowing them to have breathing room in their schedule, creative time, and thinking time. Let’s almost think of this like active rest when you’re working out. When you work out and you do tough kinds of lifting or cardio workouts, you’re also going to have days where you’re resting but you’re not laying on the couch. You might go for a walk. You do what a trainer would call active rest.
Calendar Change
You’re still kind of moving. You’re doing an activity but you’re not strenuously challenging your body. I need you to have an active rest for your mind and yourself in your calendar. Here’s why this one change is going to be so powerful for you. When you are making the move from being someone who is constantly grinding and working themselves to death to having more space and time in your calendar. It can be very tempting to fill those empty spots with things.
I want you to fill them with spots for things you like to do. You don’t have to use active rest, but I want you to schedule time to go hiking. I want you to schedule a time to take a walk with a friend, go and get coffee at your favorite coffee shop, sit down and journal, or go somewhere and paint. Whatever it is that you love to do. I want you to make the change of putting that in your calendar and honoring it like a meeting.
Now, some of you are like, “She’s full of shit. This isn’t a real thing.” It is a real thing because a lot of the solutions that we find and creative ideas that our unconscious mind elevates to us and tells us, “This will be the next amazing thing for your business, your career, or your life.” Those come to us when we create space. When we’re not so occupied with consciously thinking about this task and that task. That’s when the magic happens.
You’re not letting the magic happen if you’re grinding and hustling all the time and barely leaving enough time for yourself to sleep, breathe and eat. You need to schedule it. Schedule some downtime, fun time, and honor it. When you do, that is when the unbelievable things are going to happen for you and it sounds crazy. I get it. I need you to trust me. I do this for a living. I help people work far less, make a ton more money and be more happy. It starts with making one small change to your schedule.
One small change to your calendar that changes your entire life because you are putting in some breathing room. You’re putting in some time for you. Not just because you deserve it, but because that is the number one thing you can do to supercharge your ability to be creative, come up with solutions, and come up with ideas. Whether you think this is bullshit or not, I want you to do it.
One small change to your calendar changes your entire life. It starts with making one small change to your schedule because you are putting in some breathing room.
