Gratitude Will Bring You Everything. Here’s How.
Hi there. I am so glad you are here. It’s Thanksgiving in the United States, which has a lot of traditional meaning, but to me is a time to show tons and tons of gratitude for all of the blessings in my life. I do a Friendsgiving with all the people that I hold near and dear to my heart and take the time to feel how amazing it feels to have so many blessings many things that I used to pray for, so many things that I used to want in life and enjoy it, and in doing that create a whole hell of a lot more of it. One of the things that people don’t talk about enough with gratitude is how freaking powerful it is as a feeling because it helps you do so many things.
Universal Impact
Number one, every time you feel gratitude, I mean genuine gratitude for something that you have, someone who’s in your life, an experience that you are having any of those things you are telling the universe, “More of this.” Every time you feel happiness and genuine gratitude, you are completely aligned with getting more of whatever you are grateful for and more of whatever you want, which is incredibly powerful.
Decision Making
Number two, if you can’t make a decision, if you don’t know what you want in life, this thing or that thing you are either confused, indecisive, angry, scared, or sad. If you get to a place of gratitude, you will be able to decide. It is the answer to almost everything. It’s crazy. Number three, a very interesting thing. We cannot easily hold two emotions at once. We can. We can be happy-sad, we can be laughing-crying, we can be angry and excited, but if you are feeling real, true, full gratitude, you don’t have room for other emotions.

For example, and I am not coincidentally saying this because it is Thanksgiving, we spend time with our family. It may or may not be fun. If you are truly grateful and focus on what you are grateful for, the things that aggravate you, irritate you and bother you pretty much disappear. If you happen to be one of the folks who is going to be at a family gathering or if you are not in the US, but you go to family gatherings sometimes or gatherings with work or friends, and somebody ticks you off, here’s what you think about. Think about all the big and little things you are grateful for in your life. Start naming them off in a list almost like how people say, “Take a deep breath,” or “Count to ten.” I start counting things I’m grateful for, and I roll through those until I calm down whenever I’m aggravated. Additionally, doing that is a great reminder of all the things that are happening to me, so that if something is happening to me, it’s very easy for me to say, “I know this is happening to me. I don’t know how yet.”
Episode Wrap-up
Those 3 things are 3 of the powerful ways that gratitude is bringing you everything, whether that’s peace of mind, more of what you want, or the ability to make decisions. Gratitude is the gift that keeps on giving. If you want a gratitude practice that you can use in your life that’s simple and easy, I have one on my website, WinningMindsetMasteryPodcast.com. If you go all the way down, there’s a Free Gift From April, and it has this practice in it and a couple of others but I can also tell you right now, so you can begin doing it even without that download. Write down three wins of the day every day. Big things, little things, it doesn’t matter but if you write those down every day at the first part of your day, you start the momentum of feeling gratitude and noticing the things around you that make you happy. Remember, from all the other conversations we have had when you start noticing the things around you that you like and enjoy, your unconscious mind, your unpaid assistant, is going to start pointing out more and more of those to you, and you will get to enjoy your experience even more.
If you happen to be in the US, I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. If you are anywhere else in the world, I hope you know that I am incredibly grateful to you. I am especially grateful for our folks in Macedonia who helped make us a top-ten show in “How to Appreciate.” I appreciate everyone who’s reading and I hope that you have an amazing week. Here’s to your success.
